NX10 is a 10 out of 10!

As an avid golfer, one thing that I've learned in the past 20 years is that success on the course can be influenced by the tools that you have at your disposal. Moving forward, the NX10 will be a key tool in my bag to assist in shooting lower scores on the course. I've used a variety of range finder brands in the past (many of the big-name companies) and the NX10 by Precision Pro is the best I've ever used. When I first unboxed the range finder, I could tell that it was a quality unit. The design is sleek, sophisticated, simple, and well thought out. Buttons are spaced so they're easy to use with a golf glove on and I was pleased to find that there are now really cool customization add-ons you can purchase to change how your NX10 range finder looks. The buttons on the range finder are perfectly placed. It's compact and feels well-built and secure in my hand while being used. Using this range finder is incredibly easy. It vibrates when it picks up the yardage and gives you two separate numbers. One is the distance to an object, the other is the Slope distance when you factor in the elevation change. I can't tell you how great the adaptive slope option is.

The first thing I noticed is how the NX 10 arrived in durable packaging similar to a high quality camera or smart phone. The waterproof (resistant) clam shell storage case has a dust proof zipper for long term storage or elastic band for easy security and access. After playing a few rounds and comparing this model with a dozen different brands, I only have good things to say. For starters, the NX 10 just feels tight and sturdy in your hand. I totally prefer the bullseye optics rather than the crosshair optics found in other big name brands. The distance readings are lightning fast and matched every other model I compared. Powerful magnet for cart mount but I walk so I can't comment on the magnet strength over severely bumpy terrain. Simple yet bomb proof design with slope option and a small vibration when target distance locks in.

The most reliable, no nonsense rangefinder on the market!

This rangefinder was everything I was hoping it would be. Incredibly quick at capturing the target and a strong enough vibration that you know when you've locked it in. It works very well in capturing whatever target it is you're trying to shoot be it a hazard, a flag, or golfers in the group ahead of you. The slope switch is very easy to locate and turn on/off. It is also very obvious which slope setting you have on at the time, which is extremely helpful. By far one of my favorite features of this rangefinder is the magnet. It makes using the NX10 during a round of golf so much easier when you're not worried about taking it in and out of its case. You know right where it is every time. I was never once nervous about the strength of the magnet either, even through rough terrain. Overall, this is the perfect rangefinder for someone who is looking for something with little to no extra nonsense.

The NX 10 Slope seems excellent. Compared to NX 7, it is much quicker to find target and provide distance, and the viewfinder seems to provide much more clarity. It seems to do everything that more expensive models have, so it is a great product at a great price. The only negative -- and this is relative to the NX 7, and not to external competitors -- is that the NX 10 is a bit heavier and bulkier than the NX 7. I had gotten used to the smaller size/weight of the NX 7, so the NX 10 felt funny at first, but it works to well that I quickly got over that relatively minor issue. And to be clear, it is NOT heavier or bulkier than any of the main products of its Precision Pro's principal competitors.

I upgraded to the NX10 from a 6 year old Precision Pro Nexus. I loved it. Much faster to lock on the target and very accurate. Unfortunately it was stolen off my cart while we were having a post round beer after only using it for 4 rounds. My fault...I should have taken it off the post and put it in my bag. Maybe I'll get another one...and not use the magnet.

What are the benefits of a rangefinder?

Having accurate distances on your approach shots is huge as it makes club selection much easier.
You can also use a rangefinder off the tee to measure to a dogleg or hazard.
Rangefinders are also great for practicing to help learn club distances.
Rangefinders also speed up play because you don’t have to search for yardages.

Will the NX10 only measure to flags?

No, the NX10 will measure to any object you can see.
Golfers on the green, bunkers, trees, water hazards, golf carts in the fairway, the NX10 has a variety of uses.

Do flags need prisms to get a reading?

No, the NX10 will measure to flags with or without a prism.

How do the interchangeable parts work?

The side plate is attached through high strength magnets. Strong enough to never fall off, you can remove it at your will. The face plate is attached with hex screws and can easily be removed and replaced.

How long does the battery last?

This depends on how often you play but a good rule of thumb is one year.

Can the rangefinder change from yards to meters?

Yes, this is a simple mode change accomplished by starting with the LCD off, and then holding the power button for 5 seconds.

What is the product warranty?

The NX10 has a 3-year warranty that covers product defect or functional issues.
